David Welsh is an English artist who now lives in Provence / Luberon. He paints landscapes , still life and seascapes in soft pastel, oil & watercolours. Many of his paintings depict the seasons produce such as sunflowers (tournesols) ,poppies (coquelicots), Lavander (Lavande) ,Vineyards ( Les Vignes ) , Cherry Blossom (ceris), almond Blossom. Springtime (Printemps) is a very special time of year as the fresh vibrant colours of provence show the vibrancy of the provencal region we all love.
Most of his work is centred around L'Isle sur la Sorgue, the Luberon Valley with Lacoste, the village made famous by Pierre Cardin who hosts a festival in the summer months.Also the perched/ hill top villages of Bonnieux, Ménerbes,& Gordes, Roussillon and Lourmarin, classed as some of the most beautiful villages of Provence up to Mt Ventoux even down to Mont Sainte Victoire ( the Mountain Paul Cézanne made famous)
